CH2MBarry were commissioned to carry out a Mobility Management Plan for Mount Anville Primary School, a large all girl’s primary school with more than 460 pupils between the ages of 4 and 13. Due to the large number and young ages of many pupils, issues relating to parking, access and road safety have arisen within the surrounding housing estates at school opening and closing times. This Mobility Management Plan sets out the long-term strategy for Mount Anville Primary School to promote and deliver sustainable transport objectives. The objective of this Mobility Management Plan is to provide a more sustainable approach to the site’s transportation requirements and reduce the traffic impact on the surrounding road network. The plan provides the basis for routine examination of the commuting patterns associated with the site into the future and it will allow the development of managed travel options and more informed travel choices for staff and parents whilst reducing dependency on private car use. The provision of physical measures, such as amendments to adjacent junctions to improve accessibility as well as provision of a car park/set-down area within the school grounds have been proposed by CH2M Barry who are currently engaging with all stakeholders to determine the most suitable measures for the school and surrounding area.
