CH2M Barry were commissioned to carry out a Mobility Management Plan of the proposed Microsoft Ireland Dublin Campus at South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18.
At present Microsoft occupies four buildings in the Sandyford Business District. The Microsoft Buildings 3 & 4 are located in the former Sandyford Industrial Estate while Buildings 1 & 2 are located in the South County Business Park. This presents a number of distinct challenges to Microsoft as each building is geographically separated, resulting in an over complication of business systems and inherent inefficiencies.
Microsoft is consolidating 3 of the existing buildings (2, 3 & 4) into the single Campus building which will be located in South County Business Park, adjacent existing Building No. 1 which is being retained.
This Mobility Management Plan sets out the long-term strategy of Microsoft to promote and deliver sustainable transport objectives. The objectives of this plan are to improve accessibility to the site, whilst providing a more sustainable approach to the site’s transportation requirements. Upon completion and occupation of the development, this Mobility Management Plan will provide the basis for routine examination of the commuting patterns associated with the site into the future. The plan will allow the development of managed travel options and more informed travel choices for staff and visitors whilst reducing dependency on private car use associated primarily with commuter travel. CH2M Barry are currently monitoring and updating the plan in response to Planning Condition No. 6 of Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council’s Decision to Grant.
